He was a distinguished student as he gotThe Dean award of achievement. His medicaltraining was in royal hospital and got the Award of Omanmedical specialty board for the best resident.
He passed his MRCP Diploma in 1997 from Glasgow. Heneurology training was in London from 1998 to 2003 as a specialist visiting registrar. His main interest is multiple sclerosis and vascular pathology. His research involved in oral treatment for multiple sclerosisand Cannabis use in MS.

Dr. Mona Marwan Alkhawajah is currently Consultant Neurologist specialized in Clinical Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis, in the Neuroimmunology Integrated Practice Unit, Neuroscience Center, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center. She is also an Assistant Professor at the college of Medicine of Al Faisal University.
Dr. Alkhawajah received her Medical Degree from King Saud University, Riyadh. She then pursued her residency training in Neurology at KFSH&RC. After obtaining her Saudi Board in Neurology, she completed her Fellowship in Neuroimmunology at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada.
Dr. Alkhawajah established the first Multiple Sclerosis support group in the Kingdom, and is the founder of \u201cwalk-for-MS\u201d KSA. She is also the founder and chair organizer of the International Neuroimmunology Conference (INIC), the first of which (INIC24) took place in Riyadh, March 2024. Dr. Mustafa Shakra is a Consultant Neurologist based at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Specializing in inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the central nervous system, he oversees the Multiple Sclerosis clinics at SKMC.<\/p>

Dr. Shakra obtained his medical degree from Damascus University in 1992 and completed comprehensive training in general internal medicine and neurology subspecialty at major university hospitals. His extensive qualifications include an MD, MSc, MRCP, and FRCP in medicine and neurology. Dr. Raed Alroughani is a consultant neurologist and the director of MS clinic at Amiri and Ibn Sina hospitals. He completed his neurology residency at the University of British Columbia and subsequently obtained the neurology certification from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeon (Canada). He then completed a fellowship in Multiple Sclerosis at the University of British Columbia.
He is actively involved in research and he authored and co-authored more than 170 publications. Dr. Alroughani was awarded the National Prize for scientific production in the field of medical science in 2017 and the best researcher award by Amiri Hospital in 2018.
He is a founding member and the secretary general of MENACTRIMS. Prof. Jihad Inshasi is a Consultant Neurologist at Rashid Hospital, Dubai Academic Health Corporation (DAHC), and a Professor of Neurology at Dubai Medical College (DMCG). He developed and currently directs the Multiple Sclerosis and the Dystonia Clinics at Rashid Hospital\/DAHC<\/p>

Prof. Inshasi is the Head of the Scientific Committee and a Founding and Board Member of the Emirates Neurology Society (EMINS\/EMA). With the EMINS Board Members, he has organized numerous neurology meetings, particularly in the field of multiple sclerosis. He is founding and executive board member of the MENACTRIMS. He is also a Founding Member, and ex-President of the Emirates League against Epilepsy (ILAE). He is a member of the medical advisory committee of the recently established National MS Society (NMSS).<\/p>

Cerebrovascular disease and Stroke at Montreal General Hospital, Canada. he currently serves as a head of Stroke Center at Rashid Hospital, Dubai. <br><br>
Dr. Alrukn\u2019 s field of interest are principally directed towards the acute stroke management, stroke unit establishing and post stroke rehabilitation. He established the 1st certified stroke unit in UAE. Dr. Al rukn is a local and international speakers in stroke field, and had many publications in this area. Currently he is the President of MENA Stroke Organization.
In 2019, Dr. Alrukn became the President of World Congress of Neurology, and is the currently the President of Emirates Neurology Society. <br><br>
