Dr Adrian Brown is a NIHR Advanced Fellow and Senior Research Fellow/Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics in the Centre of Obesity Research at University College London and programme co-lead of the MSc Dietetics (Pre-registration) course at UCL. He is also a Senior Specialist Weight Management and Bariatric dietitian with over 18 years of clinical experience and a PhD in Medicine from Imperial College London.
His research interests centre around obesity, type 2 diabetes, bariatric surgery, weight stigma, ultra-processed foods, weight related terminology, food insecurity and sustainability in people living with obesity and the use of formula-based diets in different patient populations. With his NIHR Advanced fellowship focussing on weight loss in people living with obesity and kidney failure on haemodialysis prior to kidney transplant.

Dr. Bahaa Shaath is a German Board-certified consultant in Nephrology and Internal Medicine with nearly a decade of specialized experience in the comprehensive field of nephrology in Germany.

Dr Jaimini Cegla has a specialist interest in lipidology and cardiovascular risk and splits her time between clinical, laboratory and academic research roles. In her clinical role she looks after the Hammersmith Hospital Lipid Service, a one-stop centre for the genetic diagnosis and management of lipid disorders, which also offers research facilities and access to new medications.
Dr Cegla’s current research focuses on cardiovascular risk including clinical trials of novel therapeutic agents. Dr Cegla is a member of the Medical, Scientific and Research Committee of HEART UK, the cholesterol charity. She also sits on the National Clinical Advisory Group for Lipids, that advises NHS England for strategy on CVD prevention.

Dr Saf completed his specialist training from University college London hospitals UK in General Medicine Diabetes and Endocrinology. He was appointed a Consultant Endocrinologist at Ashford & St Peters Hospital in London in 2002 and worked as a Consultant until January 2013 when he moved to Abu Dhabi. In UK Dr Saf has headed diabetes care in intermediate and secondary care settings. He was instrumental in setting up a consultant led diabetes intermediate care service for Hounslow and Richmond primary care trust in 2011 in the west London area.
Dr Saf moved to Abu Dhabi in January 2013 and started working as a Consultant Endocrinologist and vice chairman medical Board at the Imperial college London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC). Prof. Tricia Tan (BSc MB ChB FRCP PhD FRCPath) is a Professor of Metabolic Medicine and Endocrinology at Imperial College London. She graduated from the University of St Andrews in and qualified in medicine from the University of Manchester. She trained in Diabetes and Endocrinology in London and studied with Prof Stephen Bloom for her doctoral research on pancreatic polypeptide.
