With a doctorate in Medicine (MD) degree from University of Liverpool, UK, he has also published numerous original research papers and books in prestigious journals across the world and in 2021 was appointed as a Professor at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi. As a Diabetes Strategic Clinical Network Lead and Lead for Advancing Quality for Cheshire and Merseyside, NHS England, he led numerous innovative initiatives including standardisation of practices and comprehensive time bound pathways resulting in significant improvements in patient care, diabetes management and a reduction in complications across the region. The achievements resulted in his nomination for the North West Leadership award. As a committed educator and Sub-Dean for medical undergraduates at University of Liverpool he was involved in developing and implementing innovative teaching programs. He has also helped guide more than 150 overseas doctors in the UK to illustrious careers as consultants and general practitioners over the last 20 years.
