Dr. Ashraf Alzaabi is the Head of Respiratory Division at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
He graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland 1997 and did his training in Internal medicine and Respirology for six years at the University of Toronto, Canada 2000-2006 where he was board certified in both specialties in Canada and USA.
Since his arrival to UAE he managed to develop a state of the art patient services in the Respiratory
Medicine Division at Zayed Hospital and this included establishing the first sleep laboratory in Abu Dhabi
and the first endoscopy center performing Endobronchial ultrasound guided biopsy procedures in UAE.
In 2007, he was appointed as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) at UAE University. Ashraf Alzaabi won many distinction awards such as the prestigious Murray Muirhead Award (2001) from the University of Toronto during his residency program. In 2013, He won the Abu Dhabi Medical Distinction Award in Clinical Performance launched by the Health Authority in Abu Dhabi (HAAD).
He was appointed as the Director of Medical Education 2007-2010 at Zayed Military Hospital. During this period, He succeeded to get the recognition of the Arab Board to start the first residency training program
at Zayed Hospital in Internal Medicine. He engineered a memorandum agreement between the faculty of Medicine at UAE University and Zayed Hospital. The signing of this agreement recognized Zayed Hospital as a training hospital for the medical students and residents during their undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
In 2010, He finished a two year program at Zayed University doing an Executive Master in Health Care Administration. This helped during his posts at many important administrative positions both at Zayed Military Hospital and at other national organizations. He is a member of the Medical Executive Council
(MEC) at Zayed Military Hospital which responsibilities include seng short and long term strategic goals for the institution. He served as the Chair of the Internal Medicine Examination Committee at the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi for the term 2010-2014.
Medical research and academic work has always been of great interest to him. He is an editor at the “CHEST” journal , middle east edition. He published the first UAE prevalence study on chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease at the Respiratory Medicine Journal in 2011. His main interest in research includes Asthma, COPD and Sleep Medicine.

Professor Basema Saddik is a professor of public health and epidemiology at the College of Medicine at the University of Sharjah, UAE and the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of New South Wales, Australia. She serves as the Chair of the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit at the University of Sharjah and holds the position of Coordinator for the “Clinical Epidemiology Research Group.” Prof. Saddik’s research spans multiple countries, including Australia, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE and has been recognized among the top 2% of global researchers by Stanford University.
Prof. Saddik’s research focuses on investigating disease burdens in vulnerable populations, addressing health disparities, and promoting equitable healthcare. She specializes in two main areas: the impact of the built environment on public health, encompassing urban planning and living conditions, and the study of occupational and environmental toxin exposure, particularly in children and marginalized groups. Her work has been pivotal in highlighting the unique challenges faced by these populations and devising strategies to enhance their health outcomes.

Hani M. Sabbour is currently Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and also former Internal Medicine Residency Program Director at Al Ain Hospital, Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. He served as Director of Cardiac Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology at Landmark Medical Center in Rhode Island USA from 2003 until 2012 . Since January 2013, he has held an academic appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor Cardiovascular Disease at Warren Alpert School of Medicine, Brown University.He established a comprehensive Pulmonary Hypertension Center and PH registry at SKMC as well as leading the SEHA PH guideline writing team to complete the SEHA clinical practice guidelines in PAH .
Dr Sabbour received his medical training at the Faculty of Medicine, Kuwait University, culminating in a medical doctorate in 1994 and awarded His Highness The Emir’s Gold Medal with First Class Honors . He completed residencies at Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations and SUNY Stony Brook – East Meadow Campus in 1995 and 1998, respectively. He was also Clinical and Research Fellow in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School, where he received ABIM Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Certification in 2003. He is ABIM certified in Internal medicine, Cardiovascular Disease , Cardiac Electrophysiology, Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant , ECHO and Nuclear Cardiology .
Dr Sabbour has been involved in multiple clinical trials; his extensive research on cardiovascular diseases has been published in a number of multi center clinical trials and publications. His clinical interests include integrated device therapy and CHF, correlative cardiac imaging, nuclear cardiology, arrhythmia management particularly atrial fibrillation, management of valvular heart disease, drug monitoring and management program and particularly Pulmonary Hypertension Dr. Sabbour is currently a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology , Heart Rhythm Society and the American College of Physicians , and Egyptian American Medical Association.

Dr. Hassan Alnuaimat is a consultant Pulmonologist and the Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Program at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he was a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He received his medical degree from the University of Jordan. He completed his Internal Medicine training at Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut and Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Florida. Dr. Alnuaimat is an expert in Pulmonary Hypertension, Lung Transplantation and ECMO support. He was the founder and Director of the PHA comprehensive care center for Pulmonary Hypertension Program at the University of Florida.

Dr. Jeffrey Chapman, MD, is the Institute Chair of the Respiratory Institute, one of the six Centers of Excellence at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, and Chief of the Quality & Patient Safety Institute. In his dual role, Dr. Chapman oversees a team focused on implementing high quality, patients first philosophy which uses the latest technology to enhance quality, drive patient safety and address critical care needs in the fields of respiratory and critical care medicine.
Before moving to Abu Dhabi, he served as a Staff Physician at US-based Cleveland Clinic from 2000 to 2011. Dr. Chapman specializes in the treatment of interstitial lung disease, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, lymphangioleiomyomatosis and connective tissue disease, as well as lung transplantation.
Dr. Chapman received his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University in Biomedical Engineering and obtained his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, US. He received training in internal medicine at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City and in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Yale University. Dr Rami Alfarra is a principal scientist at Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute, Hamad bin Khalifa University. He has over two decades of international experience in atmospheric aerosols and their impact on air quality, climate and human health. Dr Alfarra leads research on air quality assessment, source attribution and health impacts of air pollution and the development of evidence-based mitigation policies. To date, Rami has 76 publications with more than 18000 citations and a current H-index of 46. Dr Alfarra received the 2008 Swiss Academy of Sciences Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics Award.
Dr Alfarra completed a PhD degree in atmospheric science at the University of Manchester in the UK and worked as a post-doctoral scientist at the Laboratory of Atmospheric Chemistry at Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland and a scientist at UK’s National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) and fellow at the University of Manchester, UK.

Rajaie Namas, MD, is Clinical Associate Professor and Section Head of Rheumatology at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in 2017, Dr. Namas served at the University of Michigan as a Clinical Lecturer and was supported by the National Institute of Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. He was then promoted to Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Namas received his medical degree from the University of Tripoli, Libya. He completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US, followed by his residency in Internal Medicine at Hurly Medical Center/Michigan State University in Flint, Michigan, US.
