Abstract Guidelines

Emirates Health Services (EHS), in collaboration with Maudsley Health, is pleased to invite submissions for poster presentations at the International Mental Health Conference 2024. This landmark event aims to foster innovation, collaboration, and dialogue among mental health professionals, researchers, policymakers, and students worldwide.

The EHS International Mental Health Conference-2024 is set to redefine the discourse surrounding mental health innovation and services driven by empathy and compassionate. Under the theme of “Empathy-Driven Innovation: Shaping the Future of Mental Health,” the Conference endeavors to revolutionize mental health care through a lens of empathy, compassion, and innovation. By blending the human touch of empathy with cutting-edge innovations, we aim to create a transformative experience for all participants.

  2. Notification of Acceptance: October 1, 2024
  3. Poster Presentation Date: 4-5 October 2024

We seek original research and innovative ideas in the following themes:

  1. Digital technology in mental health
  2. Empathy-driven innovation health
  3. Mental Health innovation
  4. Mental Health Law
  5. Perinatal and Women’s Mental Health
  6. Psychotherapy
  7. Schizophrenia across the lifespan
  8. Youth Mental Health
  9. Others (addictions, substance use disorders, ADHD, ASD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, depression, dementia, psychosis, mental health epidemiology, sleep disorders, stigma)

All submissions will undergo peer review and evaluation based on the following criteria:

  1. Relevance to the conference theme
  2. Completeness of submission with all relevant information
  3. Clear structure and clarity of content
  4. Significance to the field of mental health

(Incomplete submissions will be excluded.)

  1. Originality: Published or unpublished work, not previously presented in other conferences
  2. Language: English language must be used.
  3. Abstract Length: 300 words
  4. Format: no more than 300 words, formatted in Microsoft Word, and single-spaced, using size 12 Times New Roman font

Once approved, posters shall be produced by their respective presenters according to the following guidelines:

ONSITE:​
  1. Select a poster size of 85CM x 200CM – Roll up Banner Size.
  2. Ensure any text is in large font but limited to 300 words only.
  3. Use graphs, charts, and/or tables.
  4. Ensure contents have a logical flow.
  5. Arrange to place the poster onsite and digital.
  6. There will be no dedicated session for the poster presentation. The poster gallery will always be available on the conference website during conference hours.
DIGITAL:
  1. Once the submitted abstract is accepted, the submitter must log in to the presentation portal to submit the final poster presentation (hit the edit button).
  2. The poster file should be 16:9 on a PowerPoint landscape converted to PDF File.
  3. The file size should be Less than 10 MB.
  4. No hyperlinks are permitted. All content must be plain text and images included in the poster must be non-functioning.
  5. The file name of the PDF file must be the title of the submitted abstract.
  6. The submitted presentation cannot be modified once uploaded in the portal.
  1. Each presenter (mostly the main author) can submit a maximum of two abstracts. The presenting author must register and attend the conference should the submitted abstract/s be accepted.
  2. It is the responsibility of the presenting author to submit the abstract. They are the main contact whose responsibility it is to communicate with other co-authors.
  3. The presenting author must register for the conference and pay in full by the deadline indicated in the abstract review outcome email. If they do not register, the abstract will be removed from the program and other associated publications.
  4. All accepted abstracts will be published on site and may appear on the conference website and/or other conference-related materials, and this will not raise any copyright issues.
  5. A submission as a particular presentation type or theme may be changed to a different type following a review to be accepted and included in the program.
  6. By submitting the abstract, the presenter consents that this work has not been previously presented in other conferences.
