Dr. Inho Jo, a Professor at Ewha Womans University and a CEO of Korean Fund for Regenerative Medicine (KFRM), graduated and received his B.S. and M.S. degree at 1982 and 1984, respectively, from Seoul National University College of Pharmacy.

In 1984, he moved to the US, and in 1989, received his Ph.D. degree in Biophysics at State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. From 1989 to 1997, he was appointed as a postdoc fellow, scientific associate, and instructor in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology, and Nephrology Division at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. After coming back to Korea in 1997, Dr. Jo firstly worked as a head of Cardiovascular Research Division at Korean National Institute of Health (KNIH) and was later promoted to a director of Department of Biomedical Sciences and served as a member of Senior Executive Service in the Korean government before becoming a professor at Ewha Womans University in 2007. During his 16 years of tenure at Ewha Womans University College of Medicine, he served as a full professor, an associate dean of College of Medicine, a director of Ewha Medical Research Center, a chairman in Department of Molecular Medicine, a director of Advanced Biomedical Research Institute and a director of Institute of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine at Ewha Womans University Medical Center Seoul Hospital.

Furthermore, he also served as a director of scientific committee, general director, president, auditor, and honorary president of Korean Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society since 2012. From 2021, Prof. Jo has been working as an editor-in-chief of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, a SCIE journal, since 2021. Dr. Jo has published more than 176 papers in the SCIE journals, and registered more than 20 domestic and international patents.

He also received several awards which includes Research Excellence Award from Ewha Womans University, 1st Ewha HaengRim Research Award from Ewha Womans University College of Medicine, 15th Univera Academic Award form BioPhamacal Society, and 2nd BioSolution Research Service Award from Korean Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society.

Dr. Park is the founder of Cell Engineering for Origin (CEFO). CEFO employs a hydrogel biomimetic environment to induce bone-forming cells, CF-M801 from Wharton’s jelly stroma cells. Their allogenic osteoblasts are immune tolerant and supplied as a frozen status (off-the-shelf). Phase 1 trial of CF-M801 for osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) demonstrates safety and exploratory efficacy, albeit within limited timeframes and the clinical designs. CF-M801 was designated as an orphan drug in Korea in 2022, with ODD applications submitted to the FDA and EMA.
The clinical applications of CF-M801 are expanding beyond ONFH to include spinal fusion, fractures, and non-union treatments. Dr Park is seeking partners for license CF-M801 or establishing J/V for its clinical trials targeting various bone diseases. She welcomes opportunities for collaboration on bone organoid or bone development using pre-osteoblast (CF-M801), as well as other cell therapy or ex-vivo gene therapy utilizing quality master cell expansion (10e10~10e11).

Dr Park earned her BA in Biology and her MS in Genetics from Korea University, and her Ph.D in Histopathology from Imperial College School of Medicine in the UK (supervisor, Prof Nicholas A Wright).

Dr. Lim has been in the field of stem cell and cell therapy since 2000 and founded Cellatoz Therapeutics, Inc in Sep 2017 to develop RM therapy including musculoskeletal and neurological cell therapy.
He used to be a Chief Science Officer (CSO) at CHA Biotech Co. Ltd. (CHA Biotech). Under his leadership and driven by a commitment to R&D investment, CHA Biotech has developed one of the largest pipelines of regenerative medicine in the industry.
Prior to serving as CSO of CHA Biotech, Dr. Lim held a position in the field of pre-clinical research, clinical trials and product license advice in cell therapy as well as diagnostic kit and drug development. He also specialized in a development of cancer therapy using immune cells. When he was working as a research director with Innocell, Inc, the immunocellular therapeutics against liver cancer (Immunecell-LC) were approved in Korea.
Dr. Lim is an active member of the International Society of Cell and Gene Therapy (ISCT), Advanced Therapies by Phacilitate, International Society of Stem Cell Society (ISSCR), and Asian Cell Therapy Organization (ACTO).
Dr. Lim earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in biochemistry from Seoul National University and doctoral degrees in biochemistry and molecular biology at University of Leeds in England. He started stem research since he was a senior scientist in National Blood Service, Oxford, England.

Haeyoung Suh-Kim, Ph.D is a Professor of Department of Anatomy, Ajou University, School of Medicine, South Korea. She earned a B.S. and M.S. in Microbiology from Seoul National University in 1981 and 1983. She earned a Ph.D. in Cell Biology at Baylor College of Medicine in 1992 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in 1995. Prof. Suh-Kim, as a stem cell biologist, has been recognized for her contribution to the fields of stem cell biology and neurosciences as she has served as the President in the Korean Society for Cell Biology (kscb.or.kr in 2011), the Korean Society for Stem Cell Research (ksscr.org in 2021~2013), and the Korean Society for Brain and Neural Sciences (ksbns.org in 2017).

Suh-Kim has founded CELLeBRAIN, Ltd, a university-based company and has tried to translate the results from basic stem cell research to therapeutic drugs, providing unique opportunities for intractable diseases using mesenchymal stem cells as a cellular vehicle to deliver therapeutic genes in vivo. The leading cell & gene therapy product for solid tumors has been proven safe and effective to treat recurrent glioblastoma through clinical trial in Korea.
