Dr. Charlotte Cousins is a UK trained Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Maudsley Health. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology and Sociology at the University of Surrey in the UK, in 2012, and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology also from the University of Surrey in 2018. She remains a licensed practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK and is licensed to practice in Abu Dhabi through DOH. Since qualifying as a clinical psychologist in 2018, Charlotte has specialised in working with individuals, couples and families as they navigate their journey to and through family life. Charlotte has extensive experience of working with individuals and couples experiencing mental health difficulties during pregnancy or in the postnatal period. Charlotte also has specialist training and experience in working with parents to improve their relationship with their baby, during pregnancy, the postnatal period and throughout infancy.
Dr. Gertrude Seneviratne (OBE, FRCPsych) has been Registrar of the Royal College Psychiatrists since 2020. In this role she has overall responsibility for policy, public education, revalidation and membership engagement.
She qualified as a medical practitioner in 1992, having trained at St Bartholomew’s Medical School, London; she completed her psychiatric training both at St. Bartholomew’s and later, as a research registrar at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN).
Dr. Seneviratne has been a consultant adult and perinatal psychiatrist at South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust since 2002. She is also the Clinical Director for the Psychological Medicine Clinical Academic Group and Lewisham Directorate at the Trust, supporting the clinical, academic and educational aspects of a range of services: general adult, liaison, crisis, rehabilitation services and specialist services: Neuropsychiatry, Eating disorders, Perinatal.
She has been an active educator over the years and with colleagues, has published/disseminated numerous research papers, particularly in the area of perinatal mental health. She has collaborated on a range of activities including service development, the use of mother and infant interaction videos, service evaluation, quality improvement and outcomes research. She has held national leadership and management roles; she is a current member and previous vice-chair of the National Clinical Reference Group, NHS England; Chair of The Perinatal Faculty, Royal College Psychiatrists (2016-2020).
In 2019, she was awarded an Order of the British Empire for services to Perinatal Psychiatry and the President’s medal of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
In 2023, Trudi was appointed to an expert Advisory Group that supports The Princess of Wales’ work with the Royal Foundation Centre of Early Childhood.
She enjoys the arts as a way of relaxing particularly music and painting and actively promotes the importance of arts therapies as therapeutic modalities.
Dr. Madonna Yanni is a psychiatrist with over a decade of experience across acute and rehabilitation settings. She has expertise in mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders, and addiction emergencies. A passionate advocate for holistic and trauma-informed care, she is especially interested in perinatal mental health and is a trained facilitator of the Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) program.
She holds teaching roles at Sharjah University and Mohammed Bin Rashid Universitl. Dr. Yanni is also the founder of an RCPsych-acknowledged Arabic mental health podcast challenging stigma in the region.

She is pursuing a Master’s in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Harvard Extension School, where her academic interests focus on maternal wellbeing, workplace mental health, and policy alignment.
Her clinical work centres on trauma-informed care with children and adolescents, including those in contact with the justice system. She has also provided psychological support for displaced populations through her work at the Humanitarian City, supporting refugees and families facing acute distress.
Ameera has held clinical roles at leading healthcare institutions, including Khalifa Medical City and the National Rehabilitation Center, where she contributed to trauma recovery, service quality enhancement, and team supervision. Her contributions span community programming, therapy outcomes evaluation, and culturally responsive interventions.
She actively contributes to workplace well-being initiatives and mental health strategy development. Her work blends clinical expertise with system-level thinking, bridging mental health practice with public service and policy.
Fatima Shamlan is the first emirati clinical social worker and has been working in inpatient and emergency areas since 2016. She have over 8 years of experience in the field of Clinical Social Work, in which she hold the position of Assistant Social Worker and Senior Clinical Social Worker. She have worked at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, and Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in various specialties, medical and transplant units. She also worked 9 months as a Senior Case Manager in Family Care Authority and joined M42 in December 2023 with Safeguarding team as Senior clinical Social worker.
Helen Walker is a UK trained mental health nurse and led on the development of specialist perinatal mental health services in the UK. She was Chair of the regional NHS perinatal mental health network for Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent and represented nursing on NHS England’s perinatal expert advisory group for the West Midlands.
Since moving to the UAE, she has delivered many educational and awareness sessions for professionals within mental health and maternity settings. As a member of the International Marce Society for Perinatal Mental Health, she leads the nursing sub-committee for the mother and baby unit specialist interest group.

Lala Langtry White is a certified childbirth educator, doula, and lactation counsellor dedicated to supporting families through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. Her own experiences—including a high-risk monochorionic twin pregnancy complicated by TTTS shortly after arriving in the UAE—ignited her passion for peer support and education.
Based in Dubai for the past 11 years, she leads Small and Mighty Babies, Twins Plus Arabia, TTTS Parent Support Arabia, Love Through Loss, and Rainbow Pregnancy & Parenthood, providing vital guidance to families navigating complex journeys that can leave them feeling isolated and requiring more tailored support than the mainstream offerings. Laura Canty is a part time business consultant, part time mum, and now part time author. Her first book, Something to Live For is a memoir recounting her thoughts, feelings and all of the emotions between bringing her son home from hospital to being discharged from a Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) in 2018.
This book leaves nothing on that table. It’s been harrowing and cathartic to write and overall, is a story of HOPE. She now have a new perspective on life, new skills and an even deeper love for the NHS.
She studied Mechanical Engineering at Sheffield University and then went on to have a number of jobs until she started her career at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence in 2008. She have held a number of roles including Business Analyst, Chief of Staff and Bid Manager but have now been a Business Change Consultant for the best part of 15 years. She’s an advocate for women in STEM and Cyber Security and enjoy visiting schools to talk about her varied career as a woman in a man’s world. Her employer has been incredibly supportive when it comes to managing her mental health and staying well and that’s the main reason she have been able to thrive at work, as a mum and as a volunteer with the NHS and Therapy Dogs Nationwide.
Her work now takes up to 4 days a week and she enjoy Friday with her 3 year old daughter.She live in Cheltenham and co-parent her son, daughter and their springer spaniel with her ex-husband. Dating in her 40s is not what she expected to be doing but its hilarious and harrowing and there is definitely material for a second book in there somewhere.
Mary Mahony bring over 16 years of nursing experience across Ireland, Australia, and the USA. Her focus has been on adult and pediatric care, encompassing general, pediatric, and emergency services.

In January 2024, she relocated to the UAE as the Safeguarding Lead for Women’s and Children at M42, and in May 2024, she was promoted to Senior Safeguarding Manager. She also earned a certificate in Child Protection through the Early Childhood Authority of Abu Dhabi and she’s currently pursuing a Master’s in Health Care Management through RCSI.
