Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a licensed HAAD Diabetes Health Educator registered nurse with a real
concern for the millions of people who have diabetes. Many of these people
have no idea how this condition will affect them if they do not get it under
control. For this reason, I decided to pursue a career as an educator for
diabetes to help diabetics learn how to control this problem and how to help
others learn how to prevent it.
I have completed all the requirements, passed the HAAD Certification for
Diabetes Educators exam and became a Certified Diabetes Educator. I would
like to put my knowledge and skills to work for your organization to help
educate the public about diabetes.
I have excellent communication skills and an easy-going personality that
makes it easy to communicate with people. I have also acquired counselling
skills and learned how to talk to patients in a way that is sympathetic but that
conveys the seriousness of this disease.
I have the ability to teach patients about nutrition, glucose monitoring and
obtaining the appropriate glucose levels by following certain steps to achieve
a healthier lifestyle. These include managing blood sugar through proper diet,
medication and exercise. I can help patients understand diabetes better and
provide them with the education they need to reduce their risks of becoming
diabetic or to teach them how to manage the disease.
Regards
