With over 20 years of experience in nephrology and healthcare leadership, I am committed to advancing medical governance frameworks aligned with international best practices. At M42, I contribute to the integration of digital transformation, AI-driven healthcare solutions, and population health strategies, focusing on promoting clinical excellence, standardizing quality measures, and leveraging data-driven insights to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
At Diaverum, I implement a holistic care model that incorporates real-time clinical performance monitoring and personalized care pathways. My leadership emphasizes innovation, value-based care, and aligning clinical strategies with the organization’s growth.
My career began at Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra (CHUC), with a focus on kidney transplantation and acute kidney injury management. As a founding member of the European Board of Transplantation Medicine and a past president of the Portuguese Society of Transplantation, I have significantly contributed to nephrology and transplantation, influencing healthcare policy and medical education.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Sofiani is an Associate Professor of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is an Adjunct Faculty at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD; and is the Vice President of the Saudi Society of Endocrinology & Metabolism and the Vice President of the Type 1 Diabetes Association. Dr. Al-Sofiani has a master’s degree in Biotechnology from Albany, NY and has completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at the University at Buffalo, NY. Then, he joined the Endocrinology Division at Johns Hopkins University where he completed his fellowship training on the Physician/Scientist track.
Dr. Al-Sofiani has authored many scientific papers and given over 300 oral presentations in
regional and international conferences. He is the recipient of the 2025 American Diabetes
Association’s Award for Health Care Delivery and Quality Improvement, the 2018 American Diabetes Association’s Vivian Fonseca Research Award, the 2019 Endocrine Society Clinical Fellow Award in Diabetes, the Siegel Award for Excellence in Teaching from University at Buffalo, and several other awards.

Dr. Muhaned Attaulah is a seasoned healthcare executive with more than 15 years of cross-functional experience in clinical practice, health insurance, digital transformation and operational leadership in the public and private sectors in the UAE and abroad.
In his role as Senior Director of Clinical Operations for the Outpatient Cluster under M42, Dr. Attaulah oversees the strategic and operational performance across Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre, HealthPlus Network of Specialty Clinics and Moorfields Eye Hospital Abu Dhabi. His leadership is focused on driving innovation, integrating advanced technologies and enhancing service delivery to provide high quality, patient-centered and sustainable care.
Dr. Attaulah holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration (MSHA) and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He also holds certifications in project and change management, healthcare informatics and business strategy from institutions including Harvard Business School, IBM and the Project Management Institute (PMI).
A regular speaker at regional healthcare forums, Dr. Attaulah actively contributes to thought leadership in the industry and has lectured in healthcare economics and informatics. His diverse background enables him to lead transformative change and drive value-based care across the outpatient network.

Adel Al Ahmad is a dedicated healthcare professional with a bachelor’s in nursing from Jordan University of Science and Technology, class of 2008. Starting as a Registered nurse at Specialty Hospital in Amman, he quickly advanced to a Team Leader in Surgical Units at SEHA hospitals, Abu Dhabi. From 2014 to 2023, Adel served as a Health Educator in a Military Hospital, later specializing as a Diabetes Educator in the Endocrine Clinic After completing the IDET program at ICLDC in 2023 then he joined M42 Group/ ICLDC as a Diabetes Educator, continuing his commitment to patient education and care.

Ms. Alaa Ahmed is an accomplished Diabetes Educator with five years of specialized experience in diabetes management, particularly in supporting women through pregnancy — from antenatal to postpartum care. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Science from Griffith University and Fatima College, a Diploma in Nursing from the Institute of Nursing (UAE), and has completed the Imperial College London Diabetes Educator Training Course (2021–2022). Additionally, she earned a specialist certification in Diabetes and Pregnancy from the University of Birmingham.
With a strong nursing foundation built during her tenure as a Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery Unit at Mafraq Hospital, Abu Dhabi (2011–2018), Ms. Ahmed transitioned into diabetes education, focusing on evidence-based care, patient empowerment, and the integration of advanced technologies such as insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and AI-assisted decision-making tools. She has led patient-centered initiatives that improved treatment adherence, optimized glycemic control, and enhanced quality of life for people living with diabetes.

Amer Khalil Abu Eid is a certified insulin pump trainer with Medtronic , Omni Pod Dash and a dedicated Diabetes Health Educator at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi, UAE, where he has worked since September 17, 2006.
He holds a Diploma in Nursing from the Republic of Lebanon.
A specialized degree in Diabetes Health Education, obtained in 2015 from the Imperial Diabetes Educator Training Program. Amer is also licensed as a Health Educator by the Department of Health Authority / Abu Dhabi.
With 18 years of experience collaborating with endocrinologists and diabetologists at the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, Amer works with patients of all ages, including children and their families. His expertise in insulin pump training plays a crucial role in managing and improving diabetes care. He is committed to empowering individuals with diabetes by enhancing their self-efficacy and self-care skills.
Amer has co-authored a book on pediatric insulin pumps and frequently delivers educational lectures. Additionally, he is a faculty member of the Diabetes Health Awareness Course conducted on behalf of the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre.
Before joining the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, Amer served as a Registered Nurse at Safad Hospital in Tripoli, Lebanon, from August 16, 2002, to March 8, 2005.

Manar Abu Asaba is a Diabetes Educator at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi, a Mubadala Health partner, where she has worked with endocrinologists for over 15 years.
She is the clinic leader for the practice and provides diabetes care and education for children, adults, and their families. She takes pride in utilising her knowledge and skills to educate people with diabetes and empowers them by helping them to better understand and control their condition.
Manar received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Hashemite University, in Jordan, before going on to attain a Postgraduate diploma in Advance Diabetes Education, from Malmo University, in Sweden, in 2014. She is also a certified Insulin Pump trainer since 2010. In 2022, Manar acquired the Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education (SCOPE) Certification, an internationally recognized standard of obesity management expertise.
She has been a member of the core faculty on the ICLDC Diabetes Educator course (IDET) since 2014.She has also co-authored a book on Insulin Pump for Paediatrics and has completed numerous presentations. Reem Khoury is a Senior Dietician and Diabetes Educator at the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC), a Mubadala Health partner, with over 15 years’ accumulated professional experience.
In her role at ICLDC, Reem is responsible for educating patients with Diabetes and providing them with the necessary dietary plans. She has been involved in developing educational materials for patients and contributes to various outreach programmes as part of ICLDC’s the public health campaign.
Reem has also helped plan and present the Structured Educational Program (SEP) for type 1 and type 2 patients with Diabetes Mellitus. She has also conducted numerous carb-counting group sessions to host patients and their families.
Reem graduated with a B.A. in Nutrition and Food Science, from Applied Science University in Amman, Jordan. In addition, she was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes with Merit from the University of South Wales, UK, where she is currently working towards a Master’s degree in Diabetes.
During her tenure at ICLDC, Reem enrolled in the Imperial Diabetes Educators’ Training Program (IDET) and qualified as a Certified Diabetes Educator. She has now gone on to become a faculty and teaching member of IDET.
