Dr. Bassam Mahboub is consultant pulmonologist and the head of pulmonary medicine unit. Served as program director for care model innovation in DHA from 2016 to 2018. American Board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, and Allergy and Clinical Immunology, also has a Masters in Business Administration from Wolverhampton University. Career goal is health innovation and respiratory care, leadership in academic and clinical sciences. Areas of interest are patient care, clinical teaching, translation research in airway diseases, and health innovation. Co-editor for Annals of Thoracic Medicine. He has authored several books in respiratory medicine and co-editor for several medical journals.Dr. Bassam has received various recognitions for his role as physician, innovation leader, and researcher from Dubai Health Authority.

Dr. Al Houqani is Associate Professor at the College of Medicine; Health Sciences, UAEU; consultant of Respiratory, Sleep Medicine at Sleep Disorders Specialized Clinic. He did his postgraduate training at University Of Toronto, Canada. His research interest is focused around the Epidemiology of Respiratory and Sleep Disorders.

Dr. Goran is Consultant Pulmonologist and Internal Medicine, with around 20 years’ experience. He is Danish Board Certified in Internal and Pulmonary Medicine, he did his fellowship at many tertiary centers at Copenhagen University Hospitals, Denmark. Dr Goran was Program Director of Adult Pulmonary Fellowship program from 2017 to 2021, likewise Consultant Pulmonologist and Internal Medicine, Clinical Education Leader for Adult Respiratory Medicine, at Zealand University Hospital, Roskilde, Denmark, a tertiary Respiratory Center. Clinically he worked specifically as Interventional Pulmonologist and Interstitial Lung Diseases Consultant through many years. Dr. Goran worked also as HOD for Respiratory Diseases at Odense-Svendborg University Hospital, a tertiary Respiratory Center l, Odense, Denmark.

After Moving to UAE in May 2021, he worked as Consultant Pulmonologist at American Hospital Dubai. In February 2022 he joined the Department of Pulmonary, Sleep and Allergic diseases at Rashid Hospital, Dubai Health as Consultant Pulmonologist, where he is currently director of interventional pulmonology, interstitial lung diseases clinic, and adult respiratory fellowship program under Graduate Medical Education, MBRU. He is member at ITC at Graduate Medical Education (GME) at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, MBRU. In January 2025 he has been appointment as Clinical Associated Professor of Medicine at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, MBRU. Since November 2024 he has been elected as Member of the Board of Emirates Thoracic Society ( ETS)  for a period of 3 years from 2024-2027, appointed as Chairperson of Scientific Committee. He has been organizer of multiple scientific meetings, organizing scientific concerence both nationally and internationally , participated as chairman, speaker and moderator. Currently member of multiple international scientific committes both in the field of Interventional Pulmonology and Interstitial Lung Diseases. He is active speaker at both International, Regional and National Scientific Conferences in the field of Internal and Thoracic Diseases likewise Interventional Pulmonology. Currently he is also member of the Adult pulmonary Scientific Committee under National Institute for Health Specialties (NIHS), Emirati Board.  

Dr. Goran living in Dubai with his Wife who is a gastric and oncoplastic breast surgeon in UAE together with their 2 children.

Dr. Al-Mulla received his medical degree from University College Cork, Ireland in 1997. He finished his Internal Medicine Residency Program (2005), Cardiology Residency Program (2008) and his Heart Function and Heart Transplant Fellowship Program (2009) from McGill University, Montreal, Canada. 

He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine as well as being certified by the National Board of Echocardiography.  

His main interests are managing patients with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, patients with Acute and Chronic Heart Failure, Echocardiography and Invasive Cardiac Hemodynamics. He is actively involved in teaching. 

Currently he is the Division Chief of Adult Cardiology, Dubai Hospital, Dubai Health, United Arab Emirates. 

Is a Consultant Pulmonologist and Head of department at King's college hospital London, Dubai. He did his initial graduation and residency in Respiratory diseases from India and then moved to the United Kingdom to complete his my membership exams followed by CCST in Pulmonology and general Internal Medicine from the Southwest London deanery.  

He has been working as a consultant in pulmonology since 2014 and has been departmental head, leading various services for the trust and advisor for the Primary care group. 

His subspecialty interests are asthma and airways disease, interventional pulmonology, sleep medicine, Pleural Diseases, and Tuberculosis/ respiratory infections.  

He is also a keen educator and was the Royal College Tutor for the medical trainees in the United Kingdom, Tutor for the Physician Associates.  

He was an Honorary clinical lecturer for Queen Mary’s University London school of medicine and currently Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at MBRU University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) and Gulf medical University (GMU) 

He has been involved in research work as well as various abstracts and studies. 

Dr. Rachel Kaminski, MBBS, MRCP, is a distinguished Consultant Pulmonologist and Respiratory Physician at Saudi German Hospital, Dubai, with over 20 years of clinical experience in both the UK and the UAE. She completed her medical training at Imperial College London followed by her internship and residency at the Royal Brompton Hospital. 
 
Dr. Kaminski has developed a reputation as a leading expert in severe asthma, airway diseases and bronchiectasis, being one of the first to extensively utilize biologic therapies for patients with severe asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. 
 
Her clinical excellence has been recognized with multiple awards from the NHS, and she has held leadership roles including Head of Department at Saudi German Hospital, and Program Director for Medical Interns. Dr. Kaminski is a prominent figure in international research, serving on multiple advisory boards, rewriting guidelines, and is a passionate advocate for patients, committed to improving clinical governance, medical education, and research infrastructure.

Dr. Mahmoud El-Kaissi, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Imaging Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Dr. El-Kaissi is the Lead thoracic Consultant Radiologist at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. El-Kaissi worked as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. Dr. El-Kaissi received his medical degree from a University in Kaunas, Lithuania. He completed his Radiology residency at King Hussein Medical Center Amman, Jordan. Dr. El-Kaissi is an American Board-certified Radiologist with four ACGME accredited fellowship in Neuroradiology, pediatric Radiology, body cross sectional imaging and cardiothoracic imaging.

Dr. Sharina is consultant pulmonologist and interstitial lung disease (ILD) specialist. Dr. Sharina runs a specialty clinic in interstitial lung disease and pulmonary fibrosis at Tawam Hospital – Al Ain. ​

Education and Training: Dr. Sharina is board certified in internal medicine and Respiratory medicine. Dr. Sharina completed interstitial lung disease fellowship program at Queen's University and research training at Harvard Medical school. She obtained master in Quality and Safety in Healthcare management at RCSI. ​

Expertise: Her clinical and scientific interest focuses on interstitial lung disease and published several researches. 

Dr. Naghma Erum Nawaz, MBBS, FFR (RCSI) is a Consultant Radiologist at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, with over 20 years of international experience in Ireland, the UK, and the UAE. She specializes in cross-sectional imaging & breast imaging, and has a strong interest in chest imaging and emergency radiology. Dr. Nawaz has held senior roles, including Program Director and Deputy Chair, and is actively involved in multidisciplinary care, training, and quality improvement. A frequent speaker at national and international conferences, she shares her expertise on AI in radiology and advances in imaging technologies to improve diagnostic practices.

Dr. Theodora Kerenidi,  is a Consultant Pulmonologist at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and a Clinical  Assistant Professor at CCLCM, Case Western Reserve University, USA with extensive experience  in both academic and clinical settings. Prior to joining CCAD in 2016, Dr. Theodora was an Assistant Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Thessaly Medical School, Greece.  Her special interests include Asthma, COPD and Thoracic Oncology.  She has a broad experience in medical education at all levels, member of Scientific Committees and Invited Speaker and moderator at many educational meetings and conferences. Authored multiple scientific publications and has received several awards for her original research. ​

Dr. Hamed Sharaf is a Consultant in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology at University Hospital Sharjah, UAE. He leads inpatient infectious diseases consultations and plays a key role in antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention and control, and sepsis initiatives across the organisation. His professional interests include complex infections, diagnostic and antimicrobial stewardship, quality improvement, and service development. Dr Sharaf is actively involved in multidisciplinary collaboration, guideline development, and medical education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He regularly contributes to regional and international conferences and is committed to advancing evidence-based practice and sustainable infection services.

Dr. Nadia AlSayed Waheed is a Specialist Pediatric Pulmonologist at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, Dubai. She graduated with honors from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and completed her internship and residency at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, an ACGME-accredited program. Dr. AlSayed holds the Arab Board certification in Pediatrics and completed a two-year fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. She also earned the HERMES Diploma in Respiratory Medicine from the European Respiratory Society. Her clinical expertise spans complex respiratory disorders in children, with a strong commitment to advancing pediatric pulmonary care.

Dr. Jehad Abdalla is an Infectious Diseases Consultant at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), Abu Dhabi, UAE. He serves as Chair of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) Committee at SEHA and is a member of the expert panel and strategic planning team for tuberculosis at the Abu Dhabi Health Authority. Dr. Abdalla is American Board–certified in Infectious Diseases. His research and teaching interests focus on viral and fungal infections, tuberculosis, multidrug-resistant organisms, and the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.

Dr. Mohammad Ghanbar is a Consultant Pulmonologist and Critical Care Physician with subspecialty expertise in pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease, and lung transplantation. He graduated from the University of Manchester and completed his Internal Medicine training at Mount Sinai in New York, followed by advanced fellowship training at Johns Hopkins University, where he holds an appointment as Assistant Professor. Dr. Ghanbar currently co-leads the national initiative for lung transplantation in Kuwait and is actively assisting in developing the country’s respiratory research infrastructure.
