Dr. Firas Hamzeh

Dr. Firas Hamzeh started his Postgraduate Training Program at the University of Nantes - France in 1994.

He obtained his first certificate of advanced studies in dental materials used in dentistry in December 1995 and his certificate of high studies in Dento Facial Orthopedics in 1997.

At the same University, while he was studying this certificate he started his Diploma in Orthodontics in 1996 and he obtained his Masters in 1999.

Dr. Hamzeh moved to Dubai in 2000 and he started his practice in the private sector, he started to use the self ligating brackets with the Damon system in the year 2004 and he continued his advanced training with Damon system with best ormco"s educators then he became an exclusive user of Damon system in his practice Since the year 2008.

He’s one of KOL with Damon system and Insignia in the Middle East.

Dr. Firas Hamzeh had advanced knowledge in Orthodontic Digital Solutions. Dr Hamzeh is recognized as an early adopter and advocate of innovative orthodontic systems including aligners and digital custom brackets INSIGNIA BRACES (he was also the first Insignia user in the Middle East) his first case was in 2012. In addition to being KOL (key Opinion Leader) for ORMCO and an International Ormco speaker on INSIGNIA the Damon system.

In addition to this he loves to treat the TMD cases because he has been following a lot of training program in occlusion and TMJ including the ROTH Williams Philosophy.

He completed his postgraduate training program in TMJ, Occlusion and Orthodontics – San Sebastian, Spain.

Since 2013 he’s treating patients with temporomandibular joint disorders. Dr. Hamzeh has presented in so many international orthodontic conferences , his main focus in his lectures is the digital orthodontics .

Prof. Ghassan Yared

Professor Ghassan Yared completed his endodontic training at University Paris VII (France) and obtained his M.Sc. from the Lebanese University (Lebanon).

Professor Yared has been extensively involved in teaching. He was Head of the Department of Research and a member of the Department of Endodontics at the Lebanese University, Lebanon. He joined the University of Toronto, Canada in 1999 for a full-time position as Director of the Endodontic Undergraduate Programme. He was granted tenure in 2004. Professor Yared has been elected for 4 consecutive years as the "Best Teacher of the Year", and has received the "Master Bruce Howard Award for Excellence in Teaching" the highest teaching award at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto.Professor Yared has supervised the research projects of graduate endodontic students at the University of Toronto and has published extensively in peer-reviewed international endodontic journals. He has given numerous lectures and continuous education courses worldwide.

Professor Ghassan Yared has practised endodontics exclusively in Canada for 20 years. He has recently moved to Lebanon where he practises endodontics part-time on a benevolent basis.

Professor Yared is the inventor of single file endodontics and asymmetrical mechanical reciprocation, the basis of modern reciprocation. His research is currently focussed on root canal disinfection. He introduced a new concept for the management of root canals with a non-instrumentation technique.

Dr. Hamdy Al Banna

Dr. Hamdy Al Banna gained his title as a Doctor in Dental Surgery in St. Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon in 1991. He also pursued his Masters in Oral Surgery and Implantology in the year 2001 in the same institution. He then joined the academic field at the university and began teaching in the Prosthetic Department and in the Aesthetic Department from 1996 up to the present day. He is referred by more than 80 clinics in the UAE and abroad. Dr. Banna has also worked in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Lebanon.

Dr. Banna believes that “Dentistry not about machines, technology and adverts; it is about Science, educational background, medicinal knowledge, work and value”

Apart from being the CEO and founder of the Dental care, he was one of the first implant surgeon dentists in the Middle East and the very first one to take the challenge of evolving and teaching this advanced technology to other dentists and spreading his knowledge worldwide.

Prof. Hani A Salam

Prof. Hani A. Salam is a Canadian-Lebanese oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He graduated as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon (OMFS) from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada and obtained his PhD from McGill University, Montreal, Canada in 2001. His PhD focused on the use of electrical stimulation and low energy lasers to stimulate bone healing around dental implants.

Dr. Hani has been offering his services in the Middle East since 2004. He is a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Saudi Arabia and practices in UAE, and Lebanon as well. Dr. Hani has a unique advantage of combining North American maxillofacial surgical clinical training and academic and research oriented PhD from North America. He had 18 years university education and extensive surgical experience.

Dr. Hani combines an active private practice as well as an academic career.
His scope of practice includes surgical dental extractions including wisdom teeth, placement of dental implants, bone grafting, orthognathic surgery and reconstructive cosmetic maxillofacial surgery, maxillofacial fractures, cysts, tumors and infections as well as non-surgical and surgical management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders including minimally invasive surgery such as arthroscopy of the temporomandibular joint and reconstruction of the TMJ.

Currently, he is a Professor and Program Director of the Postgraduate Oral Surgery and Implantology Program at Maktoum Bin Hamdan Dental University College in Dubai, UAE and a visiting Professor at Beirut Arab University. He is also the Former Director of McGill University Continuing Dental Education in the Middle East & North Africa, a position he occupied between 2006 and 2011.

Hani has published in peer-reviewed journals and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.

He is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the International Association for Dental Research. In addition, he is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, a speaker of the International Team of Implantology (ITI) and the Director of the ITI study club in Dubai, UAE focusing on the most recent advances in implant dentistry.

Dr. Hatem El-Damanhoury

Dr. Hatem El-Damanhoury is an Associate Professor at the University of Sharjah and an Expert in Restorative Dentistry, with more than 25 years of experience in academia, research, and clinical practice. He obtained his Bachelor Degree from Cairo University and his PhD and Clinical Training in Restorative Dentistry from Indiana University, USA.

His research work in dental biomaterials, cariology, and novel restorative materials and preparation designs, have been published in many reputable international journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Maha H. DAOU holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) from the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Saint-Joseph University (FMD-USJ) Beirut, Lebanon.

In 1990 she got a Graduate Certificate – A (CES – A) in Technology of Dental Materials, from Paris VII University, France, and in 1992 a Graduate Certificate – B (CES – B) in Pedodontics – Prevention, from Paris VII University, France.

In 2004, she got an Advanced Studies Diploma (DEA), from FMD-USJ. In March 2010, she obtained her Ph.D. from USJ.

She is Associate Professor at the FMD-USJ, Former Chair of the Department of Pediatric and Community Dentistry (FMD-USJ). She is in charge of the Biomaterials Division, Craniofacial Research Laboratory, and Director of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Teaching of Dental Biomaterials at FMD-USJ.

She is also Coordinator and Director of Master Degree in Biomaterials at FMD-USJ, and owner of a Private Practice exclusively specializing in Pediatric and Community Dentistry. She is also visiting scholar at McGill University.

She is an active participant of scientific and educational seminars.
