Dr. Ayman Al-Sibaie is the Head of Radiology in Rashid Hospital and Head of Radiology at Sharjah Medical Center, UAE. Dr. Al-Sibaie graduated from medical school at the Friedrich-Schiller University, Jena, Germany, and obtained the Facharzt in Radiology in 1997. Prior to coming to Dubai in 2004, he was the Head of Interventional Radiology at Wald Klinikum in Gera, one of Germany’s largest hospitals. His main interest is minimally invasive interventional techniques for treating vascular, other diseases and pain management.

Prof. Suhail Alrukn is a leading neurologist and stroke specialist renowned for his contributions to stroke care and awareness across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. As Director of the Stroke Program at Rashid Hospital and a faculty member at Dubai Medical College, he has dedicated his career to improving acute stroke management, prevention, and education. Prof. Alrukn is the founder of MENA Stroke, the region’s largest stroke organization, which has advanced stroke research, care, and public awareness under his leadership. He also co-founded the global Angels Initiative, which strengthens stroke systems of care worldwide. His efforts have earned numerous awards, including the 2022 Ron Haddock International Impact Award from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. Through his leadership and advocacy, Prof. Alrukn continues to shape the future of stroke care regionally and globally, improving outcomes for patients everywhere.

Dr. Quateen developed his expertise in interventional Neuroradiology throughout his career, which spans more than 16 years. Dr. Quateen is well-trained in the subspecialties of interventional neuroradiology and interventional vascular radiology. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions and the use of clinical imaging to conduct vascular procedures. Dr. Quateen is also a keen educator and has published several research papers. Dr. Quateen is Canadian Board Certified Diagnostic radiologist. Dr. Quateen is also a fellow of the prestigious Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He also holds three fellowships in interventional vascular radiology, interventional neuroradiology, and neuroradiology. Dr. Quateen served as an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University and the University of Ottawa in Canada before joining our ranks at SSMC, Abu Dhabi in UAE.

Dr.Nayak Kotekar is a senior consultant neurologist and Head of Department of Neurology and Medicine Al Kuwaiti Hospital EHS Sharjah. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Neurology and examiner at medical college University of Sharjah​. He has Diploma in Tropical Medicine from Liverpool. MRCP from Dublin Ireland .Fellow Royal College of Physicians Glasgow .Fellow American Academy of Neurology. ​He is Deputy to Technical Director and Head of Pharmacy and Therapeutic committee at Kuwaite Hospital Also a Member of organ donation committee and stroke committee for stroke code in Emirates Health Services. He Started the first Migraine clinic serving the northern emirates under umbrella of Emirates Health Services.​ His research has focused on migraine headaches, multiple sclerosis, dementia and Epilepsy with many publications last year. Dr kotekar has been honored by the EHS and awarded for his long standing work in the field of neurology and its licencing board He has served on the Advisory Board of many neurological disorders and their medications before launch.​ He is Founding member of Emirates Neurology society and served before in its scientific committee. He is Long standing member of Movement disorder society, and Emirati League against epilepsy He also started multiple sclerosis patient group in Sharjah and conducted its various activities for past 15 yrs

Dr. Jamal Aldeen Alkoteesh is a pioneering interventional radiologist (IR), the Chief of Interventional Radiology and Medical Director of SEHA Radiology, and IR Consultant at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi. With over 25 years of experience, he is widely regarded as the “Godfather of Interventional Radiology” in Abu Dhabi, having established the UAE’s first interventional radiology services in 2007. Dr. Alkoteesh has performed over 75,000 procedures, introducing advanced techniques such as TIPS, acute stroke interventions, prostate artery embolisation, and thermal ablation for thyroid tumours. He recently introduced new state-of-the-art IR procedures in thermal ablation and arterial embolization. He is also a professor at UAE University, shaping the next generation of radiologists.

Dr. Pournamy Sarathchandran is a consultant neurologist in Al Qassimi hospital , Sharjah, UAE and Associate professor in Sharjah University. She is a member of comprehensive stroke care program in EHS. She is a fellow of American Academy of Neurology (FAAN) ,Fellow of European board of Neurology (FEBN) and Fellow of Royal College of physicians (FRCP). She graduated from the prestigious national institutes in India -JIPMER and STIMST, where she was awarded gold medals for academic merit. She was former program director for neurology residency program in Rashid Hospital.

Roger Barranco Pons is a recognized interventional and neurointerventional radiologist with over 14 years of experience in neurovascular, vascular, and oncologic interventions. Double European Board-certified, he has trained and practiced at premier institutions in the United States, Italy, Singapore, France, Germany, and Spain. Currently, he serves as a Neurointerventional and Interventional Radiologist at Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, UAE, delivering cutting-edge, minimally invasive treatments that prioritize patient safety and outcomes.

I am a neurologist and Neurovascular fellow,presently working as Specialist Neurologist in the Department of Neurology Rashid Hospital and serving as Clinical associate professor at MBRU, Dubai. I have interest in clincial research and medical education, have authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications, presented research work as posters on several national and international forums and have served as reviewer for various journals.

Dr. Volkan Çakır is a seasoned neurointerventional and interventional radiologist with over 15 years of clinical and academic experience. Dual-certified by the European and Turkish Boards of Interventional Radiology, he has led major university hospital departments and trained numerous residents and fellows. Having completed advanced international training in stroke therapy and neurovascular techniques, he now practices at Fakeeh University Hospital, Dubai. His expertise spans brain aneurysm and AVM interventions, carotid stenting, mechanical thrombectomy, and a wide range of oncologic and peripheral vascular procedures, including chemoembolization, radioembolization, and tumor ablation.

Dr. Waqar Gaba did his junior doctor training in London and completed his Acute Medicine Registrar training in Yorkshire, U.K. He did his Stroke Fellowship from King’s College and St Thomas’s hospital, London. Dr. Waqar Gaba obtained CCT in Acute Medicine, Internal Medicine and Stroke Medicine. He is a Fellow of Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh, U.K and a Fellow of American College of Physicians. He is MRCP UK and Ireland Examiner. He is former clinical lecturer for King’s College, London and Honorary Senior Lecturer for University of Leeds. He is Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for UAE University and Khalifa University. He has simulation expertise from Harvard Medical school.
