New Year 2017 Health Goals

New Year 2017 Health Goals

We work very hard. We like to party, have fun, travel, and fulfil all the demands of our precious family. But eventually to cope up with the pressure we start ignoring our health, not knowing that if we lose our fitness, we will not be able to do any of the above mentioned things. Every year we make resolutions and just as January passes by we fall back to our old routine. But here are some tips which are very easy to maintain. You don’t have to take an extra effort to follow them.

1) 10 minutes of walk:

Even if you are not a fitness freak, even 10 minutes of brisk walk will prove beneficial for you rather than not going for it at all! Morning is the best time to go out for a walk but if you are in a hurry, make sure you do it post lunch. It will help you to digest the food better, increase your metabolism plus there’s the added advantage of exposure to the sun which will promote the production of vitamin D.

2) Drink water at regular intervals:

Nowadays there are apps which will remind you to drink water at the specific times set by you. If you do not like the taste of water (believe me there are many people like me), then infuse your water with some fruits: lemons, mint, strawberries and others. But ditch the cola; that liquid is going to cause you more harm than benefits!

3) Sleep:

Okay, for this you have to make some effort, as in, you have to buy time for your sleep. Sleep is very important. If you find it hard to fall asleep quickly, read a book. Reading has become so rare and boring that a book will lull you to sleep in no sooner than ten minutes (jokes apart). You can also try fast and quick closure movements of the eyelids. This way they become tired soon and sleep gets induced within no time.

4) Snack fruits:

Keep an apple, orange, guava, dates, nuts in a small pouch in your bag. Eat it whenever you have the urge to nibble something. It has been proven that keeping healthy things handy might actually reduce your intake of junk.

5) Routine check-ups:

You will thank me for it later. Routine checkups will keep diseases at bay. Once in three months is just fine enough to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Nowadays most laboratories come to pick up samples from your address; you need not even go for it anywhere.
