Headache and pain have become very common disorders facing many people worldwide. As
we pace in finding the most effective treatments to reduce this frequent issue, we have
brought together speakers, researchers, and professionals in the field of headache and pain,
to overcome these challenges and prevent those affected by these conditions.
The Summit was successfully held from 03-04 June 2023, at Jumeirah Emirates Towers,
Dubai, UAE. Over the course of 3 days, 2 workshops and 24 talks were delivered. The talks
were divided into 5 sessions titled Migraine Burden and Pathophysiology, Migraine
Management, Interventional Approach in Pain Syndrome, Primary Headache Management,
and Secondary Headache Syndrome.
The commencement of the summit marked the initiation with the opening ceremony,
accompanied by a speech delivered by the Summit President, Prof. Jasem Al-Hashel. Prof.
Jasem holds the position of Consultant Neurologist at Ibn Sina Hospital and serves as a
Professor of Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine, Kuwait University. Additionally, he holds

various subjects concerning the difficulties posed by migraines and strategies for managing
pain. Following each session, a panel discussion was conducted, to allow delegates and
speakers to ask questions and share their thoughts.
Following the sessions, two engaging workshops were conducted. The first workshop was a
dummy workshop focusing on Botulinum Toxin Injections in Migraine and other headache
disorders. The workshop aimed to enhance the skills necessary to safely and effectively
administer Botox injections for the treatment of chronic migraine. The second workshop
encompassed Occipital Nerve and Meralgia Paresthetica Nerve Block. It provided an
opportunity for participants with the opportunity to practice their nerve block skills on a
simulated model.
The second day consisted of 2 sessions showcasing 7 topics on cluster headache, Trigeminal
Neuralgia, refractory migraine, Persistent Post-traumatic Headache, Secondary Headache,
Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, and teleheadache in neurology.
